Regional Energy Workshop
From December 9 through December 12, 2019, Mongolia Development Strategy Institute hosted, in collaboration with Nautilus Institute for Security and Sustainability, a Regional Energy Workshop. The Workshop was attended by participants from research institutes of Mongolia, the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, the Republic of Korea, Japan, Russia, China, the United States and Europe. Workshop sessions included presentations on energy trends and energy policy in each of the nations of the region, presentations and discussions on energy cooperation opportunities and challenges in Northeast Asia, electricity grid modeling and data sharingfor international grid interconnections, and renewable mini- and macro-grid trends and development in the countries of the region and beyond. The participants toured the Salkhit windfarm south of Ulaanbaatar on the workshop's final day.
